19th Uttarakhand State Science & Technology Conference
At Unmatched Graphics, we believe that great design should not only catch the eye but also capture the spirit of the event it represents. This was our guiding philosophy when we were entrusted with the design responsibilities for the 19th Uttarakhand State Science & Technology Conference (USSTC), organized by UCOST (Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology) in collaboration with the Department of IT, SURAJ, and Doon University, Dehradun. Taking place from 28th to 30th November 2024, this prestigious state-level conference focused on a critical and timely theme: “Water & Natural Resource Management in the Context of Uttarakhand.” The organizing team at UCOST approached us with a clear requirement — to create a design that communicates the scientific integrity of the event while staying approachable, modern, and engaging. The visual identity needed to resonate with researchers, academicians, students, policymakers, and eco-conscious citizens, all while reflecting the unique geographical and ecological fabric of Uttarakhand.
We began by understanding the core agenda of the conference. This wasn’t just another academic gathering — it was a call for action toward sustainable natural resource management, with a special spotlight on disaster resilience in a fragile Himalayan context. Keeping this in mind, our design approach balanced professional clarity with environmental storytelling. Key visual elements included:
The design was widely appreciated by the organizing team and participants alike. It gave the conference a cohesive, professional look while highlighting the urgency and relevance of the theme. The branding helped drive better online engagement before the event and left a lasting impression on attendees throughout the three-day program.
This project allowed us to bridge design and science—a combination that often goes underappreciated. We’re proud to have contributed to an event that not only advanced scientific dialogue but also encouraged a responsible approach to managing Uttarakhand’s precious natural resources.
