Satya
Shiva.
A reflective publication shaped through symbolism, spirituality and editorial restraint.
Designing a visual language around reflection and belief.
Satya Shiva is a collection of inspirational thoughts, reflections and questions centred around life, belief and the spiritual presence of Shiva.
The design needed to complement the contemplative nature of the content without overpowering it.
Rather than treating every page as simply text on a layout, we developed a visual language rooted in the symbols and references appearing throughout the book.
Understand first.
Design after.
The process began with understanding the spiritual context of the manuscript.
References to Shiva, Durga and the symbolism associated with them became the foundation for the visual language of the publication.
The intention was to keep the pages calm and readable while introducing subtle visual elements that could reinforce the meaning of individual reflections.
A symbol for
every thought.
Each page was considered individually, with visual research guiding the selection and creation of relevant motifs associated with Shiva and Durga.
The symbols were not added as decoration. They were used to create meaning around the words.
Interpreting the manuscript before interpreting it visually.
The primary challenge was not technical execution, but understanding the manuscript correctly before designing it. Because the book draws upon spiritual ideas and symbolism, visual decisions could not be made purely for decoration. Once the underlying tone and symbolic language were established, the rest of the publication could be developed consistently around that foundation.
A complete publication built around one quiet visual system.
Unmatched Graphics designed the complete visual identity of Satya Shiva, including the cover, interior editorial system, testimonial pages and symbolic illustrations. The book was published by Book World in July 2026 and is currently available on Amazon.
